Does anyone have a good recommendation on a toll free number (800,866,877,888) company. I have researched the web and found most are decently priced (6 cents a mintue plus fees and minimum monthly charges) and I am looking to see if any other agent out there has found a better deal they can share.

Kall8's been great. 3 years and not one single problem, forget it's even there. Have a phone in front of you when you're choosing a number, and get one with easy recall and a pleasing numberpad walk-through (unless you want to pony up for an Alpha#).
added: I prefer 800 & 888. |

San Diego,
I just got an 800 number (888 actually) from Power Net Global (dot com). I don't know how good their service is, but the number works now. They're charging 3.9 cents per minute. Only thing to watch out for is they usually do long distance and local toll, too. If you are firm, however, they are promoting a stand alone toll free service. I'm not sure what can go wrong with a toll free number, this is the first time I've had one. With any luck, it'll just keep working! Kathleen

Price sounds right, but it couldnt find anything to order it online besides call in...What do you mean the charge long distance and local toll as well?
Meaning it's something like 3.9 cents per minute for an incoming call out side of your state and interstate calls go at a diferent rate? (thats what i have seen many of them do)...

Sorry, SD, I forgot that the company itself sells through distributors. Try this link: http://phonecallworld.com/png_tollfree.html
The reason I liked this one was because: --I didn't want to change my long distance/local toll carrier --I didn't need a service that provides voicemail, fax, etc. because I've already got that stuff in place. --I just wanted a toll free number to ring on my regular phone line. What I mean about the long distance and local toll is that a lot of companies that provide 800 numbers only do it as part of their long distance service. A local toll is the kind of call where you need to dial 1, but the number isn't out of state or really long distance. I will have to admit that there was a low key attempt made to get me to change carriers during one of those infamous "confirmation calls" or whatever they are. When I wouldn't fall for it, they said they just added the 800 service, and the mailed confirmation only lists the toll free number, so I think I'm OK. And, the main company, PowerNet Global has good press, INC awards, etc. so I figured they must be a real company. Does that help any? K

I've been using Kall8 for a year or two now, and it's great.
I haven't compared it to a "regular" single 800 number service, because that's not their forte. The big plus to Kall8 is that they're so cheap and easy to setup, you can get a different number for each property! I was getting calls about properties that had sold long ago, and it was getting on my nerves, to I just got a different number for each property, and left a recorded message to describe the property so people could get info. No extension needed. If they left a message, it went to voicemail that gets emailed to you as a MP3. It also has lots of call routing features like "If it's from my local area code, go to voicemail, otherwise, ring to my cell, unless it's after hours". Easy to setup a new number, easy to cancel, callers can't block their phone number, you can assign a "campaign" to each number, so postcards call one number, newspaper ads call another number (so you can track marketing)... I found lots of possibilities! (The link in this post is an affiliate link. I get a tiny residual if you order after using that link. I'll remove the affiliate portion if someone thinks that it is in bad taste.) I am an affiliate, but I only recommend it because I am a fan and use it myself daily. Don't believe me? It sounds like you're using this for your listings. Does it have advantages over using something like ProQuest, or am I reading it wrong? K

I've seen some good things about the response hotlines on one of these forums, but I did a search and couldn't find it, so I guess it wasn't here.
Maybe someone who uses Proquest or AdTrakker will give an opinon?? Thanks
