Better Load Time?
I've leaned my site out as much as I can w/o going to a tableless design...I want to do that eventually, but it's just such a huge undertaking that I don't have time for it right now. So...my question has to do with increasing the transfer speed from the server side. Right now, I have the cheap-o $4/month hosting from domainspricedright (godaddy) - does anyone have experience w/ upgrading to a better hosting plan to optimize their load time?

I second that, I've got a site I'm working on hosted on Media Temple that is slow as molasses on a cold day in Alaska. I'm working on finding out if it is my code or my server. Most likely a bit of both. Google maps seem to really slow things down to a crawl.

Rackspace will sell you your very own server for about $3000 a month
 I'll be in the same boat very soon. Launching a few new sites with lots of video and a big database. I'll need something better than the $5.00 a month plan. Want to go in on a server together?

I have all my sites on godaddy and I'd really prefer to just see if I can up the plan. You'll be able to get a server for a ton cheaper than that - we have a virtual server for our CMS that runs $50/month - the transfer's awesome. I think I just gave myself an idea - I'll upload eb.com to that server & point the DNS over and see if it makes a difference.
