Default Austin Realtors

Has anyone, (other than me) ever tried to bid on the domain name:
austinrealestate.com?

I remember looking for that one at some point. The people that own austinrealestate also own dallasrealestate. I thought I sent them an email but its been so long I dont really remember. 30k seems like a bucket of money. But it falls inline with other domainnames. I heard cowboys.com went for 275k and when the bidder pulled out it later went for 370k. So I guess in light of that 30k doesnt seem like so much.

But personally I dont bring in enough money from real estate to be able to make a bid in that range.

Yes I had emailed the whois contact several times in years past and never heard anything. I understand buying domains for speculation, but it is almost 2008. How much longer is someone going to sit on it without building a site or selling the domain!?!

I've been trying to get it since 1997.

My bids have not approached the $30,000 plateau however.
This San Antonio guy thinks he knows something!!!

To me, that is still a lot of money for the domain name. Since Austin is so competitive, wouldn't it take a long time to get that domain to move up the ranks, or does the current owner have PR to go with it?

Most of my domain names are xxxxxxxx-realty.com for my markets in the Rio Grande Valley (rgv, mcallen, edinburg, sharyland, brownsville, harlingen, southpadre, and spi) All of these only cost $100 / 5 years each with network solutions.

I also own austintx-realty.com, if anyone wants to send me $30,000

It would be a sweet domain to have, but I don't know about $30k! I think I'd rather spend that money branding the crap out of a creative URL I came up with!
