Sometimes all you have to do is change the ad. Making the ad match the search term gets the best results.

David,
There are lots of tips on improving AdWords in the Pay Per Click forum here. Your keywords, ad text and landing page contents may not all be in sync for those specific keywords. |

I totally agree. Making a small change could change everything around. The more relevant the keyword is to your ad and landing page, the lower your minimum bid.

This is very informative as I will be starting a PPC campaign in the very near future. It seems like it can be a bit of a science when putting a campaign together. I'll be sure to reference this forum for additional information.

Well, that's definitely not the issue. The adwords I'm using are variations of my name: David Rocci, Dave Rocci, David M. Rocci and so on... and I'm linking people to my personal blog at www.davidrocci.com -- This is my test-run with adwords campaigns so I was trying to keep it low cost to get a feel for the program.
The ads clearly match the search terms: David M. Rocci - Chicago Learn more about me; my life, my blog, resume & accomplishments So I don't understand why they want me to "increase quality or bid $10.00 to activate"?? Are they just trying to force me into a program that will make them more money? Everything is completely related so I'm lost. There is a keyword analysis popup that says: "Ad Showing? NO. This keyword isn't triggering ads to appear on Google or the search network." Anyone have any other suggestions or ideas? Thank you! -dr |

The low number of searches in Google's historical database is why they price it so high. Unless your name is a very common one, it should come up high enough in organic search results that PPC on your name should not be necessary.

David - I've used Adword for a couple years now. I would just stick to Google results pages only, and avoid the partner pages. I'm not going to say on here what I budget a month....but trust me it's not much...lol. Just watch your daily limit, and start out at the minium per search term and then walk it up as you get those "# keyword(s) are currently inactive for search", notices. If you manage it right...it will work well for you.
