so if I started out slow, with the writing/editing what would they be doing? Taking the content that is already there and changing/correcting it to enhance the professionalism and add to the key word-placement etc...???

That is correct - I would recommend at least an hour audit / consultation with myself to discuss how to support these efforts from a link building perspective etc as well. Great on page SEO and content without appropriate link support (Creation of a diverse linking portfolio and proper strategy) will really not get you very far.

ok-I'm ready to start this. I want to do the SEO and content etc as talked about above...no way I can afford the $500/mo for the link building-but possibly you have other suggestions. I want to take advantage of the Christmas deal you have going (thanks for that by the way) so should I send in the credit card autho. or is that only for a template? Let me know how to proceed, what to send etc... Clearly my goal is to achieve better rankings...mine are getting better but I know you can make my life better!! Tell me how many hours you estimate, or what I can do to achieve the most for my (tight) budget.

Paula, you can (As an existing customer) take advantage of the second part (Non template) part of the deal and that is 14.8 hours of labor, for $740 USD - those hours can be used for writing, programming or design. SEO hours are billed out at a rate 2.5 times higher than regular staff hours, thus you could get 14.8 / 2.5 in SEO time (If that makes sense)

Incidentally my suggestion is to break it up. Say 2 hours of SEO $500 of the $1480 value (site review and maybe an hour consulting.)

You may want to use 3 hours of that for a blog install as well - Your plan for 2008 should include regular blogging (At least a couple of times a week) on your own website.
