I notice KW scooping up quite a few RE/MAX agents. They are just getting ready to open an office in my market area too.

Good luck Brandon

I would like to know why you changed brokers. I am actually thinking about changing brokers too and the reasons are leads and mentoring. I've been with c21 for 4 years and it's a tough decision. By the way, Congrats on the change!

I'm with C21 also and have made a decision to change also. Nothing to do with C21 but totally the broker. I have been told by other agents and have seen it with some that have already left that we do not get to take our listings with us. I currently have 9 but just cannot wait any longer. In Mo we are not allowed to "induce" our sellers to switch to our new companies but I am sending an article to each concerning this issue which states that they have the option to withdraw their listing as they choose. One will expire in a few days so that it no problem and two others are friends so I'm not concerned about them moving their listings. The others probably will stay with C21 but that is just the way it goes. Kayserah...serah!

Keller Williams has a great mentoring program. In addition, Gary Keller's book Millionaire Real Estate Agent is about nothing more than lead generation! It is the old teach them how to fish philosophy. And it matters not what company you are with or even if you are in real estate, it is an excellent book on how to become successful in business (so ignore the title which does not do the book justice).

Learn to fish and the leads of whatever broker will have no importance to you. Your leads will be yours and you will become important to the broker instead of vice versa. They will become portable and will create value for you.

By the way KW has a policy of releasing listings when agents want to leave. Eric Blackwell is right with his synopsis on that subject. When you get down to it though, there are great brokers amongst all of the major franchises and there are also some that are less than great regardless of franchise. Find the great broker with the right culture, tools, mentoring, and education and you will learn to fish amongst the best and will never go hungry.

If anyone wants to ask about KW, please feel free to PM.

Would really like some opinions voiced about HOW to pick a good broker - based upon the "right"

culture
tools
mentoring
education
. . . .

The "change" bug has hit me (actually a few months ago) but I have been slow to give in . . . . still mauling (sp?) it over though . . .

Default Re: Changing Brokers

I think it is less about the Franchise and more about the broker...(said this many times before as well...)

Congrats on your decision to change and let us know how it goes!

Best;

Eric
