Default Do paid links help?

I recently found a site where you pay to be listed in a bunch of RE directories. I wanted to ask if those kind of paid links will help with SEO?

It will help if your site is posted on higher PR linkpage and just make sure to check your links for rel no follow attributes. It must be "follow" so you will get the link juice.

It is my understanding that Google has discounted links from paid sites to the point that they are worthless. I would save the money and look for free links and forums.

If there is no human intervention G can't tell if someone has paid for a link, or not.

I would stay away from paid links unless there is some direct traffic value associated with the link itself. If you are doing it to rank, forget about it. Effective link building can be done without buying links.

Also, steer clear of places that claim to submit to a bunch of directories. Not saying they won't, but if the page you are getting a link on doesn't get indexed or is in the supplemental index, guess what? The link is ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. Also don't be fooled by 'we'll submit your site to 350 search engines', that is worthless as well. There are only a couple search engines that matter and get the traffic you want.

Do your homework as off-page optimization is more important than on-page optimization. Although both working together is an unstoppable team, assuming you aren't using blackhat SEO techniques, which if you are, prepare to be penalized or banned.

Yours in Success,

Elvis

I disagree, if you buy links from relevant sites, you will rank.

If you buy an ad on a relevant directory and it has a link to your site it will give you positive SEO results. This is not theory this is fact. Some of the directories have lost some of their PR but there has not been any penalty.
