I noticed that when looking at the different categories the same bloggers show up sometimes as many as 5 times

Most active has Morgan showing up 5 times
Most Popular has another Blogger showing up 6 times
Top Rated is dominated by a very few bloggers.

Not to cry or anything but it seems like too much is being concentrated on a very few bloggers.

Would it not be better for at least one or two of the categories be limited to 1 position per blogger?

I ask this since so much of the domain athority is directed at those positions.

The problem though, is if someone has that many highly rated blogs, they deserve each of the blogs to be up there. How would you pick which one to choose? Chronological? Best rated (what then in the case of a tie?) etc.

As for most active... to my knowledge, it simply shows the newest blog posts. if Morgan is on that list multiple times, well we are all slacking in our posting, as he is running REW AND blogging.

The few people that dominate the rankings, are the most active posters, with the highest rankings. It just so happens that they are the same few people.

Consider it incentive to post better and faster with better quality

OK Brandon, but for REW 1.0 I was in #5 position for most active, now i don't show up at all???

as to one blogger having multiple positions, why not have something that says 5 posts or 7 posts or what ever have reached this designation from this user.

Also the most popular tab seems to be setup to reward blog posts that get the most views really fast. Problem with that is that most of the time if you are writing for your local consumer you are not writing blog posts that will get 130 views in less than 24 hours like some of the posts in there now.

The most Active tab seems to be setup for the blog posts with the most comments in a given period of time. That period of time has to be something like 2 weeks or less though as I have blog posts that have more comments on them than some that are on there.

I know I know it sounds like i am crying and complaining, but with so much REW juice going at those pages and very little going at 2nd page and further down, it seems like a big waist to have somebody on one of those pages 6 times.

James - There are actually 2 sections here, "Blogs" and "Authors"

What you want is actually already in play in the "Authors" section - http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...thors/all.html - You will notices that all bloggers only show up once, in the most comments, most popular etc categories. These bloggers are calculated within 90 days so even if someone was SUPER popular because of a single post, and held top spot in most read or something, if they did not continue to blog at that high level, they would fall off that list within 90 days or less. So you already have what you want.

The "Blogs" part - is calculated within the last 15 days, so a much shorter timeframe - This is the "current" section of REW Blogs, and I intentionally have bloggers who write interesting topics, have lots of views etc showing there because they have earned the spot and are continuously posting worthy posts.

Now - because most of the blog reads actually come from the "most recent" which is the default for REW Blogs, everyone has equal exposure and footing to try to get in those top blogs spots, it all comes down to quality of post and interest.

Also worthy of note James - because of the new rankings system, and my recent activity, it makes sense I will be the most read etc - as time goes on, and I go back to regular blogging (And many others do as well) there will likely be a much more diverse distribution of blogs in the categories mentioned.
