since I've last visited here or payed attention to my real estate site. My wife had a baby and has taken some time off. As such I've taken time off from promoting her site in any way.

The members on this site were incredible, I'm sure that has not changed. However I'm sure much has changed regading SEO strategy. I would love to get some feedback from the group on what things I should focus on to results up in the SERPS (pretty much non existant at this point).

Here is my focus:

1) Update Site - I'm lookin for some help here, is the site ugly, is the format useful?
2) Content - I'm going to focus on building out my Chicago area location information for content. the current content is very stale.
3) Linking - what is the latest and greatest here? Doing some cursory reading it appears the state directories are now frowned upon?
4) Anything else you all would recommend

My goal is to get on the first page for some reasonably competitive keywords in the chicagoland area by the spring. Something such as:

Just spend some time reading here and you will should be able to develop a strategy. I would work on content and building out more neighborhood information first & consider blogging.

Start writing a Blog as well. concentrate on a few neighborhoods around you that you and your wife would like to do business in.
