Curious to know what year end stats are for other Active Rain users.

I ended up at 8021 visitors +-100 for 2007

I also only posted app. 1 entry every 2 weeks.

Is that 8021 total referrals TO your website FROM Active Rain? Or is that just what you stats read at Active Rain.

well since 11-9-07 my profile has been viewed 138 times. I just really started using AR.

1,970 total referred visits from Active Rain, I don't post every 2 weeks, in fact I don't post at all any more, I spent a long time promoting AR to everyone, and I ended up looking into their stats (What they report there) and realizing they were grossly inflated, which upset me a bit I must say: You can read about the stats thing here http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...rey/3613/show/

I see what you mean, seems very misleading on activerain's part. I have yet to check out stats on activerain and won't bother at this point after reading your blog. Only reason I post is bec. they tend to rank good on specific keywords in google and yahoo and helps fill in gaps which brings a little more specific targeted traffic to site

Ex. Dallas New Home Incentives - yahoo i have 4/10 positions with activerain blog in position 6

Dallas New Home Inventives - Google I have 5/10 positions with activerain in position 7

For the time I put into earning "points" in 2007 I wish I would of been earning dollars.

I saw little referral traffic to my sites from AR.

I don't really pay attention to points either, I just watch SERPS and check stats on my website every once in awhile to see if AR has increased. Can't say AR is worthless by any means, I just sent a referral to one of my agents yesterday from out of state agent who needed help placing her brother in Mckinney.

I certainly agree, that for long tail targeting, it is effective - but so are so many other sites, that aren't going to attempt to sell your information to realtor.com
