Default Soundoff!

Hello everyone,

I'm new here, and working with a new site (see my sig). It was recently finished (or in the throws of being finished) by some folks and I have the pleasure of keeping it current etc.

As new as it is we are releasing a new corporate image in August; it won;t be a full redesign but a change of the look for sure. That being said, now is a great time for feedback!

Cheers - Ale.

I can't offer much in the way of technical feedback, but I like the site. It is clean and informative. I have one question about your typical customer? Are most of your customers committed to moving to Spain prior to accessing your site or do you have more impulse buyers like we do on Maui? If it is the latter, I might want to throw more text and imagery that might entice the buyer. Spain is an amazing country. Strong imagery and text will often help sway the customer into the merits of buying property. Pictures of the coast, the pyrennes or the amazing architecture of the cities would all be helpful.

I agree with Pete,
Pictures can help quite a bit. If you can get pictures with people in them, even better.

Active photos with people having fun make people wish they were there.

Think about it...If you see picures of a ski resort they don't just show you the mountain, they show you pictures of people skiing

I would have a mix of activity photos, scenery, architecture and whatever else you think might cause someone to fall in love with your area.

I'll give some more feedback after I have had some time to really look at the site.

Jim

Just took a quick glance for now, but I think the layout is very nice.

The first thing that jumped out at me is it's kind of difficult to make contact. I saw just one email link on the contact page and one contact form somewhere on the bottom of one of the pages below the fold that I saw.

The other thing that I noticed is that there is no link to my site

First off, thanks for the feedback. It's great to chat with someone about this.

While we have been told that the site isn't sexy (not that you're saying that!), we had to stick with something akin to the old design (visible on the Russian site for now). Pictures would be an asset, however the target client here is either:

1 - retiring and deciding that Spain is the place.
2 - Looking for an investment either a. purely for money, b. for money and a vacation location or c. for money and a retirement location.

Most of the clients (UK for the most part) have been here and are looking to retire out of the rain. They tend to come down on the inspection trips to buy. So there isn't really much in the way of impulse buying...

I'm hoping that the summer redesign will allow for a better use of the space that we do have for imagery. Everyone wanted a piece of the homepage real-esate *cough*, so we're tracking clicks on the homepage to see what people really do use...

Rick and Jim, thanks. You two snuck in while I was replying, I think!

Contacts.. interesting. There is a 'contact us' on the side of every page, though I would say that the target page of that link is a real letdown. That page was a bit of a tug-of-war between employees

As for other ways to contact, you can contact from a search result page or an individual listing, as well as when requesting a brochure or inspection trip request.

It's very interesting hearing from you folks. A lot of the sites here are done a certain way, different, of course, as we don't have MLS. It's a refreshing thing to hear these ideas/observations. Thanks!
