It's definitely a strange penalty. While I certainly enjoyed being #2 for almost 1 year, being #6 is still on the first page. I'm still trying to figure out if I did something wrong. I personally know of 1 and maybe 2 people that this happened to the same week. Plus there are a lot of webmasters talking about the very same thing on other forums, so it's not just me.

Seems pretty clear that it's real. I find these penalties/filters fascinating but this sucks sorry to hear that. Everybody says the G spam team is swamped but I don't think so, I was re-included within 36 hours of filing a re-consideration request for an innocent mistake that was easy to prove. The problem is knowing what you did.

Looks like a filter, is it affecting just your main site? Main keywords only? You might want to mix up the link profile where you can and switch up homes for sale instead of real estate? I dunno.

I have a neat SEO blog post to write about the other sites I found like mine in the /:, penalty hell where G actually shows the penalty on the link, but then I remembered I don't have an SEO blog.
