I have a basic( I guess it seems so) REW blog on my site. It there any benefit to having my wordpress or other blog there instead?

I think it is more attractive( though I should change to photo, but don't know how) and feel there is something to the visuals. But the other thing other than aesthetic I wondered about is there any SE benefit to a post on wordpress or blogger attached by virtue of their associations or architecture?

Are there any reasons not to post the same blog topic to multple sources figuring some will float to the top and others never to be found?

Some blogs have no links, others multiple. Any reason one would not want to have links for an indicidual reader to follow for more information on a topic?

If one of the reasons to blog besides providing relevant or timely information on a topic, is back links, then is the volume of blogging similar to providing many more pages of links within a site?

Do forum posts count for links?

I have a wordpress blog as well as my REW blog...but I have to admit I think I'm going to dump the wordpress blog and just put all my posts on REW. The results are 10 times better on REW for me. I've been posting end-of-year updates for towns around where I live, and every one is on page one of google for "city real estate" the next day. I never had success like that with wordpress.

re: Duplicate content -- Google needs to decide which is the original and which is the dupe content, and the dupe content is basically packed away in a lonely corner of search results.

More blog posts help for backlinks up to a point, as I understand. That is, as long as the links don't have the "nofollow" tag.

Thanks Michael on the link. I guess after the magic 300, these links in our blog count as real backlink. Not sure if why the #, but I guess there is some wisdom of aging.

On my comment on wordpress, that is not attached to my REW site. The one I have attached to my site is and REW one.

I also post on the forum blog which is different, and that gets juice, whereas mine does not seem to. That was at the heart of the question.

I have heard, though I don't have any factual evidence (sorry), that posting duplicate content on a blog is not a favorable thing to do in the eyes of the almighty-Google. If anyone has any actual proof of this though, I would love to see it, and I think it would help in your situation as well.

Its my understanding that our blogs provide back link juice out of the gate, while the forum is the one you need 300 posts to get your sigs to be un-no-followed.

Also, when you say your rew blog is on your site, is that an RSS feed and when you go this route what site gets credited for the content, REW or your site?

The blog on my site will get a post to page 1 in a couple of hours. It is all in the syndication. Any blog can get juice this way.

Hi Gregg, the nofollows are only on the forums, not the blogs. Your REW blog will have even more juice if you hook up the 'visit my blog' link in your user CP, it will give you a forum link to your blog with every post. Mmmm sweet juice.

I run an REW blog for SERP exposure & an onsite blog to show Goog that there is frequent content added to my site & to keep it fresh. My onsite blog is starting to get some juice now, just need some more links but I just saw it was on the 2nd page for city real estate. Just got to keep at it.
