Even if it did not hamper the search results, if any significant number of visitors are like me, they hit the back button immediately instead of going forward into the site. Why? Because I feel like the flash intro has already wasted my time and I am not willing to gamble that the interior of the site will not waste more. Flash intros look great, but more times than not they seem to over promise and under deliver.

If it were me I would get rid of the flash and point the main URL where it should (the main content page). Then the primary search engine result snippet for the main page of the site won't say "Intro" and nothing else (see link above). In my opinion it is a waste of good real estate.

If your client wants a flash graphic then embed it into the home page like the REW sites do.

Even if it didn't hurt your seo efforts, it is bad for visitors. It took over 10 seconds for me to see anything of substance and when I clicked the skip intor button it tiil another 7 seconds to get to the home page. People are turned off by anything that doesn't load in just a few seconds and will quickly hit the back button to check out the next site.

Also, I'm on a high speed connection. Anyone with anything slower will take forever to load.

keep in mind lots of people shop for real estate at work, when they are supposed to be doing what?? Working..

What do you think people who have computers with speakers do when they open your website and all that sound comes out??

My guess from having worked in a office like that before is that they close your site right away and never come back, for fear that the boss will come by and investigate what is up at your desk.
