As part of our ongoing effort to assist our customers in making the most of their REW websites, I am going to have Danielle (One of our full time CSR staff) put together tutorials on how to use the features of our CMS, and also provide support and training online (Here at the forums) during business hours.
So I pose the question to you, our customers - what would you like to learn today? Is there a button in the CMS that you aren't sure how to use? Are you struggling with the image uploader? Don't know what a snippet is, or why they are cool? That sort of thing. Danielle will be posting to her REW Blog tutorials with screen shots, and announcing those tutorials in the tutorials forum for discussion and Q & A

I have yet to figure out what the "Listings" page in the CMS does. I actually filled it out and all but haven't the slightest idea where the page I created is or even how to find it.
...My 2 cents

Might be a moot point with the new IDX snippet generator included with a CMS 2.0 upgrade - but certainly something to put on the list for those not upgrading.

I do believe you are referring to the "listings" tab at the top of the CMS - that is for the manual insertion of listings (For those that don't have IDX)
What it does is, after you add a listing to the system, it automatically stores it in the database, and sets up a preformatted listings and details view for the listing. If you want to put the listings view somewhere use the snippet #lm-listings#

Incidentally, I created you a page called "Listings" via the CMS, and placed the snippet in there, to show you what the output looks like http://dev120.rewdev.com/listings.php

Morgan, this is a great thread...thank you, thank you!!!! The view listings is useful to me and before I even found this thread I saved Danielle's blog to my favorites. I too would also like to know about snippets as I believe they can be used in various places...but not sure. I will have questions of my own and will be back to this thread, which I bet will be going for a long time.

Ah ha! Great question - I am going to use this as an opportunity to train Danielle some more, but here are the basics.
Often times, you would like to be able to use code that you create in more than one spot (Such as a contact form, or table of information) whatever it may be. Instead of having to go find the code, login to the page you want to copy it to, switch to html mode, and paste it in. Snippets are a way of creating the code once, and saving it in a central place, giving it a name, and then whenever you want to use it, you simply put #snippetname# in the wysiwyg and the system does the rest. (For those more experienced coders, this is akin to an include) I have attached a screenshot from the new CMS for illustration purposes.
