Is it helpful for seo to have anchor text in your blog pointed to other pages of your website, or atleast to your home page? I can go back and add that to a number of my posts, but only if it can help me out.

This is actually something that I have been researching quite a bit. Most of the "sources" that I have researched have told me that it does help.

Now, you had mentioned that the links that are relevant can be used. Does this include inner-site links (blog A to blog B)?

When you blog, toss "self-promotion" out the window. It's 100% about your readers. If you wrote an article a week ago about Countrywide's stock falling below six bucks, and if you wanted to refer to that article, you can do that. But you do not use a post as an opportunity to link to your property listing or your main website with keyword-stuffed anchor text to try to boost their search engine rankings. Easiest way to think about internal links on a blog: DON'T think about them. Just write. |

Morgan - If someone was writing a blog post about a specific neighborhood with very detailed & unique information, would it be appropriate to include a short list (5 or less) of available properties within that neighborhood that were deep linked the the specific property pages on the agent's websites?

If you are wanting to showcase properties in a specific area, why would you not make a blog post titled "properties in area x" and make the properties the topic of the post instead of a generic post about the area which you are trying to force listings into?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with blog posts that are promoting something, as long as they are compelling, unique and provide something useful to the reader.

I was thinking more of a neighborhood review for smaller subdivisons. We have a lot of neighborhoods with 50 - 100 homes. My intent is to provide someone interested in a specific neighborhood with an overview of the current sales, what to & not to look for in a home specific to the neighborhood. I also include a list of amenities that the neighborhood has to offers, as well as anything that people need to know. Some of these subdivisions have very specific rules that people aren’t aware of.
I would post the information on my website, but the information is somewhat time sensitive and makes more sense to me to publish on a blog.

Instead of linking directly to 5 or so properties (since they won't be permanently available - hopefully...), I would link to the dynamic page that pulls the listings that match the neighborhood that you're writing about, if that's possible.
