Some of you may notice a flag at the top of your REW Blog when logged in, it is read and states that your blog is currently in violation of one or more of our terms of service.

This is a new notification system that lets users who have been flagged know that the moderation staff has flagged their blog, and provides a link to how to go about getting the flagged removed.

So here is the deal - Flags are applied if a moderator finds a blogger in violation of our terms of use.

We assume that everyone has read them, and if you have not, there is a link to them in this post.

We fully expect that someone wanting to have a flag removed will audit their own blog and remove offending material "before" posting here at the forums for reconsideration. If you are truly stuck after you have audited your own blog as to why you have been flagged, then you may post here in the blogs forum and request clarification - but please do not do so until after you have performed a thorough audit on your blog yourself.

Some things to watch for if you have been flagged:
Excessive / Irrelevant out bound linking (Or any other form of link spam) - This includes deeplinking (Multiple links) to the same domain. You really should not have more than one link to a domain in relevant reading.
Duplicate content
Copyright infringement
Defamatory or libelous content (Anything illegal really)
Keyword stuffing
You get the idea..

The idea here is not to be a bunch of jerks - it's to help educate users on what it means (And takes) to make the most of the resource we have provided. We need to ensure that REW Bloggers as a whole have a reputation for clean search engine tactics, unique contributions, etc - if our reputation is strong, everyone benefits.
