I have recently been submitting my website to directories, and search engines... and most of the directories I am submitting to are PR4-PR6. But for some reason I have slipped a couple spots on Google for some of my keywords. Is it possible that my recent attempt to build my links has hurt my results, or could it be something else?

Also, isn't it a bad idea to be building up your link popularity on your mainpage, while neglecting the other pages of your website? I have been trying to build my link popularity on a few other pages of my website, can someone confirm that this is a good idea?

Don't stress or celebrate the minor changes at all... up a couple, down a few... tis the nature of the beast. It is highly unlikely that the directory submissions would have any negative impact.

It's always a good idea to seek links to different areas of your web site, and even more so now than ever.

just keep doing what your doing...if you see yourself slip 10-20, then something happened, otherwise, you are going to fluctuate somewhat

Thanks for everyones insight into this... I think you're right, my recent submissions probably haven't even been indexed yet.

In regards to link building on secondary pages on my website, I find those pages are comming up in search results now... so for one search term I can have 2 or 3 of my pages comming up on page 1 of google. I don't think this is a bad thing by any means but could I be penalized in any way for this?

For example:

Google "Belleville Realtor"

you will see me on page one for two of my pages...

1. www.flowersells.com
2. www.flowersells.com/belleville/

I also have a page http://www.flowersells.com/bellevill...-estate-agent/ which doesn't come up when I search thise term (I haven't been link building on this page though either)

My concern is, I wouldn't want 3 or 4 of my pages to show on the same page of google... am I crazy to think this way?

I didn't see either of those links in the SEPRs? You are not likely to get more than 2 SERP listings on the same page for the same site. Typically you will get a double listing or a link hub.

Yeah, when I go to google.com it automatically redirects me to google.ca. I had no idea there were different results. I guess it helps to build those links on secondary pages aswell and not just the homepage.
