So is there no benefit in writing a blog on REW anymore until REW gets whatever issues straightened out with Google? Because none of my blogs are anywhere to be found on Google.

Also, let's not forget - REW was not banned, there was just a -30 or so penalty assessed likely for the paid inclusion portion of our directory. I have already completely cleaned up the directory and tendered our reconsideration request - At most these things last for 60 days (Sigh!) - but once our authority status is returned which I have no doubt it will be, all contributed content will go back to gaining the exposure it once had in Google.

OC has a good point Google is most certainly not our only traffic source - yesterday alone the social portions of REW (Blogs and forums) had over 3000 unique visitors combined.

Whatever penalty that was levied, I am sure will be resolved. I am noticing there have been fewer posts here on rew, that is a shame because rew blogs provide us a great platform.

I would think you'd have to ask yourself the question - Do you blog for Google or for your clients? My guess is most of the REW bloggers do so for the latter and will continue to use their blogs just like they always have before.

Are you serious? And I mean no disrespect but are you serious? Everything I do is for Google because without Google there are no clients! My website is for my clients, my marketing is for Google.

I don't spend untold nights and hours on every social networking site on the planet for my clients, I don't do keyword research for my clients and I don't go around to every directory on the web begging for a link for my clients. 90% of my job is trying to keep Google happy, 10% is showing and selling homes. Showing and selling is the easy part.
