Default Do Search Engines Pick Up REW Listings?

Do the search engines pick up our listings if we input each of our listings into REW? For example is the title of the listing looked at like the title of the page? Has anyone had any experience with that? It's hard for me to tell now, because Google isn't picking up anything on REW right now, so I was wondering if anyone noticed their listings being spidered prior to the REW penalty?

Our listings are most certainly spiderable by search engines

In that case, do you recommend putting my keywords as the title for example Novi Real Estate and Novi Homes For Sale and then maybe the address to get picked up better in SE's?

For example the title would be:

Novi Real Estate, Novi Homes For Sale, 532 Smith Street, Novi, MI 48382

I have not gotten my site yet but I am looking forward to seeing how it works. On my AA site we input our listings under "featuring listings" it does not come up on the search engines but they do send the listings out to dozens of other portal sites like P2A does which is cool.

What I do is make a whole new page for each listing, larger photos, alt text, keywords, etc and the page has its own meta, title, etc etc, all the fancy SEO “stuff”. I then add the url for that page to my "site map" on AA and these pages for sure gets picked up by the search engines all the time.

Can we do that here at REW with a custom or template? Make a page for each listing with the page properly "SEO'd" so to say?

Wow that would be awesome to have our listings be pulled automatically into the REW site, but I think the only way you can do that would be if you have a custom IDX, otherwise REW would have no way of pulling the listings from your IDX.

No I do not recommend it - keyword stuffing looks horrible and is not all that effective - I DO recommend proper titles which in their own right will contain the required search phrase:

Example - Hospital area home for sale, Nanaimo - $399,000 with a half acre!

It requires custom programming, but I can most certainly do this for you (And if you are in an MLS board with other REW users you could split the programming costs)

Basically what we need to do is creating a parsing and import script to create the feed, and then setup REW blogs to receive it.

The parser would first export your listings (You cannot do this for all IDX listings, only your own) then it would translate all fields required for REW blogs from the IDX feed and place them in an xml format.

Finally - I would have to set up your REW Blog to receive and translate this xml feed into your account.

Pretty simple no?

Mike - you are going to stop doing this Why? Because you don't need to have double entry - with REW IDX we can create custom queries (Such as by your agent ID) to create listings and details pages - these pages are already search engine friendly, mod_rewritten and spiderable - no need to enter them in twice.
