The only press release site I use currently is Prweb.com - I am not sure if they have a free version any more or not, as I typically do paid inclusion - http://prweb.com/releases/2008/1/prweb603071.htm as an example

It wouldn't hurt your business if you would submit your Press Release to a number of Press Release sites. More coverage for your business and extra backlinks for your site (and if you care about Page Rank, these sites can help, too, since they are high PR sites). That was the concern I had... I would think PR's work just like articles, but I haven't submitted the one's I have done to enough PR sites to know for sure.

Morgan - Prweb.com use to be free a couple years ago, but I believe that policy has changed. I visited there offices located in Ferndale, WA and talked to the former owner about a doing some press releases for a development. Anyways...he sold the company to another company back east. One can just go to there site and it explains their costs to run an article currently.
