Default best way to recruit agents?

I have a sister REO brokerage that needs new agents who want to dedicate the next 2 years to REO training and sales in the Orange County, CA office.

What's the best way to advertise our need for agents? Buy one of those "email lists" online and then do an email marketing campaign? Craig's list?

How have others recruited agents in your respective area? We would like to add at least 25 agents over the next 60 days.

Do you want new agents, or experienced agents? I would make phone calls to some agents that you already know and offer some attractive splits and free leads.

Emails and CraigsList may work if you just want bodies. Productive agents doing business seem reluctant to make changes in this market unless it has some huge upside. I would try networking, personal phone calls and attending broker preview meeting as the best way.

Specifically, I'm looking for experienced agents who are suddenly faced with a drop in volume through no fault of their own, but they want to stay active in this market by servicing REO listings to pay their bills while they wait out the recovery. And yes, not only would leads be given, but we would definitely help them with lead generation and training to they can succeed.

craigslist, kijiji, backpage, addos, and oodle are always options to recruit and for those with quick hire needs. 25 agents over 60 days is attainable but you might sacrifice quality. There are plenty of experienced agents needing work right now, just spread the word on classifieds, forums, etc as you have here.

I get emails all the time from other brokerages. It also helps if you have a recruiter that is payed commission on how many agents they bring in.

Eric,

That's the rub - where do I get this email list of licensees? I don't mind paying $500 for a list online, but don't know if the list is even current. And of course our local board won't sell their list.

When I was recruiting agents for my team I used every site that has been mentioned and I received maybe one reply a week. I was even offering leads

I would agree with Eric and higher a recruiter that will sit and call agents all day long.
