I am not sure you are checking this right - I did a search http://www.google.ca/search?q=site%3...ient=firefox-a with the operator site:www.stgeorgeutproperty.com adn I show 43 of your pages indexed.
How are you checking this?

yeah, I see that as well...however when I go into my webmaster tools, it shows Indexed URL's... well it's under Sitemap--maybe this is why I am confused?? What does this mean? The number was the same for a long time now it keeps declining. Maybe it's irrelevant?

Concur. Webmaster tools show a sharp decline in indexed pages for my site. Also, as mentioned in a previous post, refresh rates of the website have diminished. There must have been a tweak because I haven't changed any of my practices.

My indexed pages fluctuates hugely. I went from about 70 to 130 in the last few weeks.

- You modified your internal link structure or added new pages. - Google devalued some of the links pointing at your site - Google devalued some of the links pointing to sites that link to your site - Sites that link to your site modified their internal link structure or added new pages. - Less juice is flowing in your vertical (something that happened in the SEO niche back in November) There are dozens of other confirmed/unconfirmed reasons as well (e.g. stale content/overly complex URL structure - two cause of pages dropping into the supplemental index - both confirmed by Google) As for stgeorgeproperty, site:domain.com/* shows only 8 results, which means you don't have enough value-passing backlinks to your site. Though the toolbar PageRank can be misleading, a TBPR 0 home page is usually enough to tell me the same thing: not enough backlinks, especially if a site's been around long enough to have gone through at least one Toolbar update. You got 169 links: mostly from REW, activerain/localism, wemoveyoufree, an agent directory, and sitewide sidebar links on wemoveyoufree.blogspot.com. Most if not all of REW links currently don't pass any link value (until you make a few more posts). Wemoveyoufree, which has 12 backlinks, is 302 redirecting to your other site (it should be 301 redirecting instead), so that link may not be helping you at all. http://wemoveyoufree.blogspot.com/ only has 6 pages and is only linked from your stgeorge site, so those links aren't helping you either (though the anchor text is helping you with ranking, you're not gaining any extra link juice from that reciprocal linking setup). So basically your site is floating on a handful of activerain/localism links. I see you're not listed on some of the major directories like Yahoo, DMOZ, business.com, or botw. Those links might help a little. Blogging can also help you rack up natural backlinks; I think in terms of time/money, blogging is probably one of the most efficient link building methods. For example, I believe Eric Bramlet gained over 1,400 backlinks from one blog post that happened to front page on Digg. Last edited by Halfdeck; 02-14-2008 at 04:13 AM. |

my index counts went back up. my sitemap getting downloaded every few days/site getting crawled every few days. seems they are loosening the google noose!
![]() Halfdeck: you have provided some great info. thanks. the site has been around, just not on a platform that was doing anything. This was the reason I came to REW. The WE Move You Free is only another domain I own, but do not want to utilize at this point. True, the links it does have could help, but I have already started moving/changing those links to reflect the domain I am using. I have made attempts to get into the directories...whatever...I'm done with that for now!! frustrating!! Thanks for the info!! Last edited by StGeorgeUTproperty; 02-14-2008 at 07:25 AM.
