Default Switching domain names

I am thinking about switching to a domain name that I own that has my main keywords in the URL. I've owned the name for about a year, but it has been pointing to my other site.

The benefits of switching will get my keywords in the URL. But, what implications will there be from an search engine perspective? Will I be starting over?

Looking for some advice or opinions... thanks

webmaster will become famous soon enough
Default Re: Switching domain names

switching to a domain with a keyword in it is not a benefit, there are little to no benefits to having a domain with keywords in it - so if that is your motivation, I would not change domains.

From my experiences Yahoo rewards this more than Google. Why not create another website going after the same keyword with different text?

if your current site has many incoming links why switch it?

doesnt matter if your site name is xyz or abc, proper seo would rank both the same i would guess
