Default alternatives to MLSFinder in Minneapolis?

I am so tired of the people (Edit) at Wolfnet / MLSFinder offering uncompetitive solutions at pie in the sky pricing. What they do is not rocket science.

Anybody else had any luck with other idx solutions in Minneapolis area? It's pretty much the simplest application in the world to build, that's probably why it bugs me even more to pay them their overage fees when they don't even offer plans to accommodate users with high traffic sites.

Please offer up solutions and pricing. If the folks at mlsfinder read this, get a grip on your business model. Back when you had 5 customers, and I took you under my wing and promoted you on my site(s), and then in other cities, I made your business. It certainly wasn't your sales or customer support teams.

You only remain in business for one reason, and that is because building an idx solution and marketing it to Realtors is about the last thing in the world any sane web 2.0 developer would want to do..

Please someone, anyone, do us a favor and post any legitimate idx mapping vendors in Minneapolis that is putting out a competitive, reliable service at a good price.

For those of you mlsfinder lovers, you won't love them so much if you are ever successful at getting your site highly ranked. Or if you have to deal with their customer support team.

Something like this? http://dev66.rewdev.com/idx/map/

We don't have "visitation fees" and our CORE application is based on a one time setup fee (Much higher than MLS finders as we charge for the labor) and then a $40 per month IDX hosting / lead management console fee. (No traffic limits)

You will be likely looking at an iframe option due to the fact that you host your own sites and don't use the REW CMS, but that's not a problem - here is an example of a CORE IDX skinned to match a custom site - the IDX portion is ours, the site is theirs http://www.southbeachrealestate.com/search

We do lots of IDX in your area and can roll it out very quickly - give me a call if you would like to chat Brent - 250-753-9893

It's all good - We bill out our standard programming / design rate of $100 USD per hour. Standard setup (What we call CORE IDX) starts at 25 hours (20 programming 5 hours design for basic skinning) from there we can do whatever you want (Add things not included in CORE) and it's just an hourly charge. And example of CORE (The basic install with Google mapping can be seen here www.graycrestrealty.com/idx/ (All core installs include Google mapping) or an example of something uber custom can be seen at my Buddy Gary's site (I think you two have been chatting) - http://www.nashvillebuyers.com/idx/map/nashville/ - This represents a TON of custom hours, but obviously a lot going on.

With our system - there are really only 4 limitations, I will copy paste them here.

There are only two limitations to custom IDX (Well technically 4)

1. Custom IDX vendors (As with all IDX vendors) are obligated to follow the rules and regulations stipulated by the MLS board. We sign a contract stating that we will only use the data in acceptable ways as deemed by the MLS board - This typically means that we must post a board approved disclaimer anywhere that MLS data is displayed, we must credit the listings in some form to the listing brokerage (Listing courtesy of) and anything else the board requires for compliace.
2. Custom IDX vendors can only query against data in the feed - if it is not in the feed, there is no way to display it in the solution (Some MLS's for instance do not provide a flag for "short sale" for instance so there is no way for the vendor to filter properties that are "short sale" as there is no way to identify them from the data.
3. Your budget - customization takes time (Design and programming) - it is not uncommon to have a 50 hours or more for high end search solutions.
4. Your imagination - as long as you play by the MLS board rules, we have the data in the feed, and you can afford it - the only other limitation to custom IDX is your imagination.

I'm Dev66 - AKA AaronSOLD.com and I can tell you it is a great system but the demos that are being shown include a custom web site design as well. REW offers both template (under $1k) and custom site ($5k+) solutions and your best results come from having both an REW site and an REW IDX.

Dev66 and Gary Ashton are also custom designs that is true - however http://www.graycrestrealty.com/idx/ is completely out of the box CORE (No customizations whatsoever)

just to let you know that mlsfinder, magically today, decided to revise their pricing...now it's your monthly fee plus .003 per map view...which is still high, but better than the $250 - $500 per month some of my teams were paying... so now they are just name calling removed, although the distinction between the two is quite unclear.

I am not sure it is fair to call the thieves - I mean their mapping technology is not their own, it is likely they pay per action for use of the map. I know Google charges us to use their corporate API for geo-coding etc it's around $10 per 1000 geocodes or actions.

i doubt they pay for the map, maybe the geocoding service, but they can use free third party geocoders at no charge..

Not at their volume they couldn't - third party Geo-coders have caps on queries per day, I have been down this road so have some insight.

We host probably a little over 4,000,000 listings currently, even if a small % of those changed per day it would take you well over the cap of the free geo-coders, also free geo-coders typically have stipulations of use such as not for commercial use.
