Default New Facebook Group for Real Estate Techie's

I have created a Facebook group catering to the advancement of Realtors thru technology. It seems that everything is going the way of the Net and so I wanted to create an area that other agents with some tech savy can share what they do, how they do it, and maybe gain some new knowledge from others...almost like a self help group. It is also open to those that would just like to expand their horizons a bit with some new knowledge on how to make their business better.

Open to all Agents regardless of Brokerage!

Together...we all achieve more.

check it out

http://www.facebook.com/n/?group.php&gid=10620416775

thanks

rob

Some of you have joined...some are just looking. If you are not using facebook as part of your business plan...why not. Great place to network, find people that should be in your sphere of influence, and make new friends. Fun site but very serious tool if you use it right. This facebook group mentioned above talks about all the uses of social networking with your business....kindof a self help group, similar to here except very specialized.

Take a look...

see you all there

Rob, please do not bump your own threads Inviting people to join your FB group is ok, but try not to push it on people - those that are interested in your group will click through and join, and if they have questions, they will ask here at the forum.
Thanks

I have heard about social networks and how they can benefit a business, through networking. My question is, how has it worked for you and have you received any business or clients from using it?

The reason why i ask is from an investor standpoint. You as a realtor can list just about any property and make a profit but as an investor I would have to use different strategies to make it a win win. can you see the benefit of using such a market to try an generate business for investors, assuming you have dealt with investors?

Most of the people that I deal with are investors. This particular group is designed to help realtors use the latest technology to help advertise. The beauty of social networking is in the term Networking. Having more contacts, being known by more people, creating an online presence, etc all help us do more business and find opportunities for our clients that we would not have known about in the first place. When a person becomes an authority on something, people will seek that person out...

I have used social networking to create a presence, both online and off. I have made new contacts with other agents that I would have never known of before, and hopefully, strong enough contacts that a referral based was created.
There are other areas where I lend my expertise in various topics of real estate to help buyers make educated decisions on purchasing investment property or their primary residence. I never ask for business online...as I feel that doing so will degrade the infastructure that I am trying to build

I hope I answered your question.

I thought that was the reason to start a web presence. I mean not blatantly asking for business but you do want prospects to find you in as many places as possible. I understand website are really to provide more information for prospect that can potentially push them to being a client, but you don't use any call to action?

You did answer my question and i thank you, so basically you haven't found any clients as a result of using facebook, but you did develope a stronger network of growth potential.

I asked the question because i don't see a lot of the homeowners i deal with coming to a social network and on top of the looking for a solution to their problem. Maybe i need to add more clients, because i did hear facebook is one of the fastest growing networks on the web and wanted to get others opinions on how it really effected their business.

I dont use facebook to directly locate clients although it could be used that way...If you want to engage home owners or potential homeowners, a good place to goto is Trulia. I have other agents in my office that contribute to trulia and have gotten clients from there...give that a try.

Basically, I am a listing agent...when I get a listing, I attack my network that I have created to see if I can generate some interest.

Holly Cow, you attack your network? I think I know what you mean, and that's a good way to say it too.

I have heard of trulia(sp) but I am unsure of what it is.

I had to go back and see what the heck I said "attack" though maybe I said something out of line...but didnt. Yup, attack is basically me hitting the phones, online people that I know may have an interest in my listing to see if I can get it sold
