Default How do I approach agents?

I clean houses on the side and would like to do it fulltime. I understand that some real estate agents in foreclosure sometimes have houses that need to be cleaned. Could someone direct me in the right way....how and usually who do I approach? Thanks so much! PS I am in Houston,TX and would like to meet anyone else who wants to discuss business.

My suggestion is:

Make sure you have a flyer with pricing and services as well as business cards.

Then start going around to offices and introduce yourself. Ask if you can leave a flyer and business cards. Make sure to go the property management offices as well.

Also, you may want to go to some open houses and introduce yourself.

One last thought, offer a one time introductory special. Agents like discounts and freebies

Best of luck.

Google "Austin Foreclosures" and "Austin Texas foreclosures" and contact the agents who come up.

Definitely make yourself know to agents and offices in your area. You can see if there is some sort of regular meeting of local agents, put a flier together, offer trial services (even a discount on cleaning at their own house) so that they can be comfortable referring you to clients.

all of the above suggestions are great, I would also sit down and comprise a list of local agencies you are targeting and send them marketing letter with breakdown on services and special discounts for agents and their clients. If you establish close relationship with different agencies, more than likely you will be able to handle final cleanup before final walkthrough. I insert in all my contracts, "seller to professionally clean all rooms and flooring prior to close" . If were are unable to get seller to agree, I still send out cleaning service to clean house before client moves in.

get everything in order as far as business goes, cards, pricing, experciance, time available and then go to every real estate office and get in front of every person handing out info and tips or ideas. Face to face is the best way for people to remember you. Be consistent and don't give up.

I would speak to a local agent that does REO's and ask them for a list of asset management firms. Those firms can pay you directly for cleaning foreclosure homes in the area. Consequently, these companies will also allow you to sign up as a vendor or register as a vendor directly through their websites.

You may want to offer a freebie or a client referral to an REO agent that gives you this list - cause they don't give out these lists too easily.

Get your business organized in functionality and legally, look into getting an honesty bond and start knocking on doors and networking.

I wouldn't hire someone just by contacting me via the internet, I will want to meet you, know your work is up to my standards and that you have experience.

Just like real estate begin with your sphere of influence, Church, friends, family, coworkers, neighbors while you go to your local real estate offices leaving a business card for every agents in the office along with your flier.

Good Luck

Do you have a webiste? I think you can build a tiny one free in several places.

New homes builders might be another option for you. We have a gal that works on our projects and cleans each and every home at least 3-4 times during the construction and once the house is complete. She keeps pretty busy with out projects. Anyways, its just an idea and I know the builder really values the cleaning service she provides. You might have to approach 20-25 homes builders before you get a yes...just don't quit!

Licensed? Insured? Bonded?

The guy teaching my Broker class brought up this very scenario. We must have good sources of service providers, but we must exercise caution in making these referrals.
