Default Suggestions for CMS 2 Editors

1) Don't have the editors, html or normal, html editor jumble the resulting html all together when it saves the code. It makes it near impossible to locate the section of code we want to edit. I build pages and html code like I would do in any editor - with logical line and paragraph breaks, indents and other visual positioning to help me locate start/end points for table columns, rows, and other code that html requires start/end tags for. I would guess that your programmers do the same, so why destroy good coding practice by jamming it all up? The normal page editor should also retain all line/paragraph breaks just as they are created, and not remove them when saving the html.

2) When switching to html edit mode, position the cursor to the same place in the code as it was in the main edit panel. That way, if we know what we want to edit, or where we need to place new html code, we can position the cursor before switching to html view and save a lot of time trying to find the applicable insert/edit location.

3) When a page is saved, leave it up on the screen so we can make additional changes if needed. Saving the Home page works that way, so why is it different for any other page? No good reason that I can tell. It just makes me have to select and open a different page before I can recall the original page for additional changes.

I was browsing the forum for posts about the issue you described in item #1 and I'd like to add my enthusiastic vote for fixing this. Your other posts are good ideas, too.

Thanks!

Boywith this post is nearly 2 years old, any discussion or implementation / change resulting from this discussion is long since past.

We do welcome feedback on our products - the best place to provide that would be email support @ realestatewebmasters.com - bringing up old posts is not the appropriate venue for providing feedback.

thanks
