Default Please review new site

We are still working on a few things but I wanted to get some of your opinions on color, layout, fonts, etc. The site is not functional yet.

Please review this.

Thank you.

I really like quite a few things about your new site:

The colors blend very well and to me, present a very "beachy" atmosphere.

I also like the layout having your quick search in the top fold along with your blog posts, and your area quick searches located along the bottom.

Well done.

Question: Your stats placeholder, will that be fed from a feed or manually updated?

Congrats on what seems to be a great looking new site.

I'm jealous

Thank you for the review. The market stats can be automated but I am probably going to add the stats myself so I have more control over them.

The featured listings text (top right) is overlapping. Maybe squeezing too much in the allocated text area.

I like the site!

Would be interested in how to develop a market stats snippet!

I am guessing you have some snippets in the footer. Is that right?

Marc,
Look for snippets not working just above registration here - /siesta-key-real-estate.php .

It may be your blog feed. I tried putting some snippets in a blog and they didn't seem to work there. May be the case here. None the less, there are 3snippets mid page that are just displaying the snippet name and not the snippet data.

The site is not functional so the stats, featured listing and few other things are not working yet. I just wanted to get peoples opinions on color, layout, main photo, etc. Thanks for the tips and insight Cal.

Hey Marc,

Looks great, I'm jealous too, I really like the wider resolution. If I noticed anything, it seems that the phone numbers are little small or lost in the upper left corner, but I love the colors and layout.

Calum, I have been waiting for Aaron to get your darn CMS upgrade live, then was going to send you my suggestions for you

Starts out -

Quote:
Going wide - I truly believe it is time to go to 1024 with this site - not only will going wide make content more accessible, it will provide a LOT more opportunity to integrate search engine friendly navigation elements and calls to action.
Wide is definitely in - Quote from Zoolander's mogotu "That Hansel is so hot right now"

I'll try to finish it up this weekend - and send you a link

Marc (And the rest of you) - Phil and I are working on the site right now trying to get er cleaned up (And hooked up) for launch, so there may be some things busted if you try to view right now - just a heads up.

Marc, I agree with the positive comments above. Looks like you'll have yet another great site. One negative that may be simply be a personal quirk is the trap white space on some of your community pages like this one: http://dev20.rewtemplates.com/communities.php

Trap white space is the white space seen in the interior of your pages surrounded by copy or graphic elements. Most people have probably never heard of trap white space, a concept ingrained many years ago when I was managing editor of a national award winning school year book. My art teacher and year book faculty adviser made a BIG deal about it as did the publisher. However, it's a concept I have not heard mentioned in years and may not apply to the web.

Judging from the books about publishing here, the concept of trap white space does still exist, at least for print: http://books.google.com/books?q=trap...G=Search+Books

I love the photo in the header section of your home page.
