I have been using the Act Contact Management for my business for the last 15 years and have also tried MS Outlook. I'm just wondering if anyone else has purchased either of the newer versions of Act with the 2007 or 2008. I'm trying to decide on whether to upgrade to one of the newer Act versions or do a major switch over to Outlook. I know all the pluses and minuses of Outlook, so what I'm hoping to hear are comments on the newer versions of Act.
I read through some of the older threads on this subject, but instead of commenting and asking the questions there...I just thought Id start this new thread. Any Act users feel free to comment please.

I have used Act 2005 pretty extensivly up until the last 2 years, In my opinion its much better than outlook for notes & letters, but much worse for email. They do syncronize even better in the later versions with Outloook.
I switched to Top Producer 7i in Jan 2006, & found it to be a great program for the serious real estate agent. It would not be a great program for a casual real estate agent.

I use outlook for Email. Act has a special addition for Real Estate Agents now but its not cheap.

Alex - yeah I've read up on the real estate version of Act. I'm not convinced it's worth the upgrade and cost attached. I'm thinking of just upgrading to the 2007 or 2008 version. I believe the 2008 version is like $149.00, which is not bad at all if it's a significant improvement over my Act 2005, especially if the email function has improved.

149 is not bad. I think the RE act is over $400. I thinking in a year or so its will be much cheaper. So I'll wait.
