I wasn't sure where to put this...thought about laid back chat, but I'm not feeling so laid back about this. My emails have been erroring back and I am told by people that they haven't been able to get thru. I read this morning about blacklisting IP's and put my IP into blacklist.ie and am shown as blacklisted by SORBS and 510 SG....I am unable to find phone numbers or way to reach them. optonline doesn't seem to have a solution. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on this? Thanks

What server are you using as your outgoing mail server?

The IP that you send mail as will usually be the IP of the outgoing mailserver and not your computers IP.

If the emails error back - what do the errors say? Usually, If the email has been bounced due to abuse (Spam) then it'll give you a little information on how to go about removing the block.

I use optonline and they said they couldn't do anything... I definitely want to get off this list and if I can find out how I got there, that too. Is there a way???

Yes - there is a way to get off the lists. Some ISP's provide a "feedback loop" that you can sign up to to find out why you were blocked. This is usually done by the server administrator ... and not it's users.

It's a bit surprising that they will not help you - if their servers are indeed blocked due to spam abuse - they should be the ones trying to get off the list as it will effect all their customers.

I can try and help - just need one of the bounced emails that came back to you - and the IP that you believe is blocked. You can email it to me (aaron@realestatewebmasters.com)
