I have Rapattoni MLS, and I'm trying to set up a user friendly IDX search page. I can't seam to find a decent program that works with my MLS. Rapattoni is RETS compliant, but it seams the only option I have is "smart framing" (nothing smart about it.) The only sites I've seen that search my MLS are framed public views. No customized searches at all. There are a few companies that offer custom searches in my area, but none of them work with my MLS. They all try to sell me some other MLS... not very usefull.

A neighboring MLS (Fresno MLS) is Rapattoni as well, but I've seen many custom search pages with thier members, and the custom companies work with them as well.

Has anyone had some experience with Rapattoni?

Maybe my MLS just doesn't participate in some feature?

If you are using smart frames your pages are from a central source and not your website. There are ways to redirect the URL so it looks like it is coming from your site but there are several problems. Your MLS will not allow it and if they discover it they will terminate your access and if they don't Google will eventually ban the redirected pages and perhaps your web site.

To have a MLS with user friendly URLs you need a custom IDX conversion. See BroadwayKeys.com for an example of a custom integration.

Maybe I should be more clear. I'm aware that I'm pulling data from an offsite source. I'm not so concerned about the user freindliness of the url as much as the search form. My MLS Search form is a little daunting for users. I would like to set up something that has feilds like: city, max price, sqft, beds, baths, then take the input and use it to search the MLS. I'm just not sure if it's doable with my MLS.

In my opinion it is. Please post an URL of your site with MLS.

Thanks for the reply Vlado. The url for my current page is vrephp.visaliarealestate.org/MLSSearch.php. A good example of what I want the user search to look like can be found .here. I'm also looking for a good "featured listings" program. I've looked at open realty, but had some problems installing it and the interface on the demo was a little drab.

I viewed your site and I am still not sure what do you need. You want simplify your search form, to have only fields you've mentioned(city, price min... etc.)?

Yes, something like that is what I'm looking for. I like that the search results are formated in the same style as the rest ot the page. I also like the way the Broker Reciprocity is represented.

I made custom MLS solution for member of this forum. He was satisfied with my work. So I can offer you my services if you will need.

I don't know if you have got access to RAW DATA of your area MLS, but if you haven't there is still a way to create custom form with targeting to aplication which is included to your site with <IFRAME></IFRAME>
