I have a market stats box on my home page. What market stats do you think visitors find compelling?

I had total number of homes and condos for sale in the market stats but it is a scary number so I took it down. A lot of buyers are sitting on the side in fear of lower prices. I want to show pending transactions and recent solds so they feel more comfortable buying. Any opinions?

I know the the "More Sarasota Stats" link does not go anywhere. The site is in development.

I talked to you offline about this, but I like the idea of showing inventory moving as opposed to what "hasn't" sold, my comment was that there should be a link to (If not right in the stats) explaining why this is good for me - Buyers aren't experts, and without explanation of benefits, they will just be numbers.

Check with your MLS first. I got in trouble for doing this a while back in a newsletter. Only the board was allowed to post stats in general. I can post my own stats, but thats it. I am sure not all boards are as tight as mine, but better to check first.

Thanks for the heads up NY RE Broker. I would actually rather ask for forgiveness versus beg for permission.

I have been posting stats in my blog for a very long time now and my board monitors my site so I think they would have said something by now. As long as I have an explanation of where I am getting the stats I can't see why they would get mad. But then again, I am surprised everyday by some of their decisions.

With my board its about power. If I am the one giving the public the stats, then when they release their figures (which the do quarterly) nobody cares. I am permitted to use the published stats in my ad campaigns, but only AFTER they release it. In other words, after it is useless information.
