Default Digg attention all of the sudden

I signed up with Digg a while back...have not really done anything after creating my very limited profile. But the past few days I've been getting "fans". What does this mean? Am I missing something...why all of the sudden? Hope some of you web savvy'er REW's can tell me whats up. I guess this is a good thing, but just wonder "why now"??

It is a social network, perhaps someone who is a lot more connected in the system (Thus a lot more visible) added you, all of a sudden your profile is exposed to many more people.

Also, did you change your picture to a personal one lately, or have you always used your headshot? You are quite an attractive woman (Not hitting on you, it's just a fact) and honestly, in social networks there is usually a component of their membership that will click on and add someone just because of a pretty face.

Lots of reasons really.

actually, I dont even have my pic up. Just the work logo. I have not logged on or anything, but in the past day I have received 3 "fans". Most seem like other agents, so I thought maybe some kind of "memo" was sent out to add fans...I dont know.

Maybe it's just random people looking to network with other randoms in order to get THEIR faces out there more.

I am with Nick on that...IMO one component of them networking with you is that they can give you a "shout" when they have a post for you to look at and possibly digg...

If 1 in 10 friends Diggs a post... how many in 1000? (grin).

Bottom line- relationships are good things - better if they are REAL relationships though and you get to know them.

Best

Eric

With Digg you don't need to know the people, you just need a lot of mutual friends. I wrote a basic overview of Digg about a month ago, it might help you understand Digg a little better.

One important thing for real estate agents, don't try and submit hyper local content. It will not do well and you will be very disappointed in the results. Most real estate blogs are not really the type of content Digg users care about.

It just takes time for your profile and content to gain credibility and be exposed to a lot of the network, and for some reason these things tend to happen in bunches. I experienced something similar where I saw no results on Digg for months and then all of the sudden I had a bunch of people reading my stuff.

Put your better half's mug up there, she qualifies for what Morgan is talking about.
