Hi Guys, I need some advice.
My site is a couple of months old and went from PR0 to PR3 on the index page, with internal pages getting a PR1. My links pages however got no PR at all. Did I do something wrong? All pages are linked internally throughout the site so i thought the PR would be spread around evenly. I am a little concerned that some sites will not want to link to a PR0 page once the site is considered as mature. I would welcome any advice. As ever warm regards........Cozzy

I have two thoughts about your concern:
1. If you want -- as most of us to do -- to appear high in the SERPs, I don't think it really matters which page does it for you. Thus, if one of your internal pages is the hero, don't worry about the laurels not yet applying to your home page. 2. The consensus seems to be that what is PR0 today could become PR 7 tomorrow (well, at some time in the future, anyway). Most of all, then, make your content's interest and appeal to the viewer your overriding aim. This will attract links and, for good measure, help you raise your present PR on its own. Duncan ![]()

I agree with the points that Duncan makes. I also understand that many potential link partners want to see PR on the page that you propose to put their link on.
To spread out PR, use sitemap links at the bottom of all of your pages. Also, link to your links directory from all of your pages. Take a look at what I did here: www.amenta.com Good luck! You will find a great deal of information on this forum.

You do not want an even passing of PR. There are some pages that need to have more value than others if you want them to have a better chance of ranking well. Not to mention putting a mini site map on the bottom of every page is very tacky most of the time.
Link to pages as it makes sense, not to try and make the PR even. The HP will have a link from every page and most (if not all) of your incoming links, so it will have higher PR as it sould. Can you change this, yes...but why? Either way play around with this PR tool to get a better understanding of how to achieve what you want.
