Why is this the ONLY market in the country where property value is rising? Is this predicted to continue or downturn? I have been hearing conflicting stories on this specific market? Some people say it's a hoax, other swear it's an anomoly that will only become stronger. Does anyone have any solid ideas?

Property values have increased in many markets locally here in Texas including San Antonio. Many published reports only include the "Top 10, 20 or 30 Markets." Also, the media make headlines just to that draw attention. Which headline would you probably see on CNNMoney or Forbes?

A.) 24 Out Of 25 Markets Show Price Declines From Year Ago

B.) Charlotte NC Property Values Increases 5%

Hey guys, I wasn't trying to arouse competition.. I was just wondering what some other thoughts were on this. Thanks for the replies!

Charlotte has been consistent with the rate of appreciation, we didn't see 30-50% spikes here like most markets. I am a firm believer that slow growth is more stable and won't put the market into a shock.

The only problem we have in Charlotte at this point are the foreclosures, but the past few weeks the number of filings has seem to slow down a bit, which is not good for me, but good for the economy here.

We have neighborhoods that are declining since hot spots are driving out the old renters and owners and sending them to those less desirable areas.

What are your plans for here?
