Cool I host & develop my site, what are my IDX options?

I am so frustrated with my board's IDX links. They are slow and iframes have to be made ridiculously tall in order to fit searches. And it's slow and there are no ways to customize!

I really don't want to frame an IDX link provided by someone else. My background is web and graphic design and my better half is a software engineer. Between the two of us, if we could get ahold of some API data life would be perfect. Unfortunately, no one I ask with my board or MLS provider seems to know what I'm asking for.

Has anyone found and great DYI IDX solutions? I have plenty of hosting space and bandwidth along with MySQL and php capabilities.

I know that your typical Realtor doesn't care about these things, but I really want to customize my IDX software!

OpenRealty, would likely be a good starting point for you, if you are in ABOR, you must be a broker to access the raw data feed. Are you a broker?

I'm not a broker (yet) but I'm in a small brokerage with a flexible broker so she will be willing to help me.

I have looked at Open Realty and have the free version installed right now to play with. Their website does not have any testing results for ABOR, have you used Open Realty with ABOR or know anyone who has?

I was also wondering if ABOR offered access to agents or just brokers so thank you for answering my other question!

I am very sure that ABOR is broker only, so to be "Flexible" is moot, they cannot possibly swing it without it being a compliance violation.

In terms of open realty, heck no I have not used it! REW IDX all the way baby!
