Default Are there any classes for being an as*

I have been an agent for a couple months and I feel like a real as*.
I am completely lost with all the different papers I need to get signed in different situations.
I feel like I have not had a great training when it came to contracts.
Did anyone else have this problem?
Also can someone recommend a course I can take or a book/program.
thanks all
(im in NY by the way)

A lot has to do with the Broker you choose to hang your license with. Its good to interview a few brokers and find witch ones work with stuff you need like training and so on. But don't sweat it the paperwork eventually comes around and you get the hang of it. Its also good to grab a bunch of papers and do bogus deals with fake names and just practice filling in the blanks. Good luck and have a cocktail on me, we all feel like as#es in the business when we start out.

This is not something that is confined to just real estate agents, anyone can have this issue. My suggests is to make a set of detailed work instructions. A work instruction is a step by step work flow for a specific. It works best if you write them yourself and have someone else review them. They are also great for training new agents.

Next setup a folder system to hold your files. Setup several empty folders labeled for the different documents. As you proceed through the process fill each folder.

You're first few transactions are going to be quite the event. To expand on Kevin's post, you should also find a broker and an environment that is conducive to you learning the ropes.

Does your broker have an open-door policy? Are there other experienced agents willing to help you with your transaction; perhaps for a referral fee?

Learning the ropes is just like any other industry. It takes time to learn the ins and outs, but don't get too down on yourself. Even today, there are certain situations that come up in real estate transactions that I get stumped on.

This is why it is vital to be in an environment that is not only supportive of your goals, but also with your needs as a new agent.

Also - I have found the my local ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS have a lot of GREAT CLASSES - many of which are free - and they help!!!! Tremendously! They have classes, such as, CONTRACT WRITING - which goes back over the intricate details of the paperwork . . .

But definitely get an Agent or broker who is willing to sit down with you on each step - even ask if you can "shadow" someone as they work on a deal . . .

Training and Development, Lead Generation, Lead Conversion, and Servicing.

T&D is at the front on purpose.

as was said above, It all boils down to your broker. The right one would be the best source of info on not only contracts but training in your area

Yeppers, these are tops and should be coming from your broker/office manager.

If you're not getting what you need, you need to speak up!

Good luck.
