Default IDX or RETs?

Greetings,

I am a newbee to web development and have been working on a client's website and initially we have integrated her MLS' framed gateway solution.

Of course as many have commented here, neither of us like the framed solution, as its flexibility is very limited and we loose search statistics once the clients enter the framed area.

Anyway long-story short, in our area the MLS does support and allow either their IDX solution feed or a RETs feed to be used by agents as long as they have their broker's permission which we now have.

I have set up an Open Realty test page and wrote a template that smoothly integrates it into the Website style scheme and everyone is happy so far.

My question is: We now must chose between the IDX or RETs feeds and we are leaning toward RETs. ...Anyone here worked with both and can give us some insight on which way to proceed??

Kind Regards,

IDX ftp feed / is typically less challenging to work with than RETS, but RETS will most times be more flexible and powerful - I recommend RETS as it seems to be the way all boards are going these days, we get notification all the time from boards that they are cancelling their FTP feed in favor of RETS.

Thanks so much for the input.

We've just got all the paperwork complete and we are definitely going in the RETS direction.

Kind Regards,
