Hello I am thinking about putting a blog page on my website and was curious if anyone new a good program to create one, I already bought a domain name if I need one. Any ideas would be great thanks.

In my opinion, for a single-user type of blog, Wordpress is the best blogging platform, hands down.

There are "blog networks" -- Active Rain, realtor.com, and of course REW. But if you want your own blog, Wordpress (self-hosted, not WP.com) works well. Other options are TypePad, Movable Type and even a CMS such as Joomla.

No doubt about it, go with WordPress. It is by far the best blogging platform available and its free. Plus you can get templates to customize the look of the blog.

If you are adding it to an existing website, just upload it to your site in a "blog" directory. yoursite.com/blog or something similar.

I am currently creating my entire new site using wordpress after reading the forum's here. So far I have been working through the learning curve but it really appears to be a great program and from what I've read very SEO friendly. i would recommend using it.

Kevin - Who is your host? Some hosting services offer a quick install of Wordpress that takes less than 5 minutes to install. You could also incorporate your blog into your existing website (i.e. K-DogHuntley/blog)

I went to your blog link on your home page but it directed me to an empty page. Did you manage to install the wordpress files correctly?

Wordpress has great seo functionalities but the correct plugins must be uploaded for you take full advantage of it.
