Oh well, I have the screen shots anyway. I was #1 for 3 days - for not one but 3 excellent keywords. It's over now and I couldn't care less. Really. We all work so hard to get to #1 and what a let down. I got very few leads. Maybe 1 or 2 . Now, I know that 3 days isn't much and maybe they were just three slow days. Maybe, maybe not.

So, today I am back to my very happy and comfortable #2 spot (thank you Google) and I'm back to getting leads again.

What do you make of that? Anyone have a similar experience?

I have gotten up to #3 for one of my keywords and I didn't notice a huge difference. Supposedly there is typically a lot more clicks for #1 versus #2. I noticed on an old site that ran adsense that the income went up when I got to #1 for a little while, but leads are harder to track. Here's a distribution chart of the clickthrough rates that is kind of interesting:

Interesting. I was just going by what I could see. It's bouncing around more than I thought. If we can hold on till Monday, that would be a good indicator. Monday is always our busiest day.
