Okay guys, I have been recently added to the member directory. If you look at my listing, by clicking here;
http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...States/Florida and you click on my listing title that says "real estate web sites" you will notice that the link is bad. My question is this; is it a SEO TRICK to place a space bewteen the .com and the forward slash? I have seen a local so called "SEO expert" do this on their own web site and I thought they were just stupid! But maybe it is a little trick I did not know about. For instance http://www.realtorleadsonline.com / <--- notice the space?

Dan,
It looks like an accident to me. Here is the source code notice the %20 <td width="488"><a href="http://www.realtorleadsonline.com%20">Real Estate Web Sites</a><br> I notice the the url to your website under the description works fine. I'll IM Morgan to look at the Anchor Text. No trick that I know of. Jim Last edited by Jim Messenger : 06-11-2004 at 04:42 PM. |

I have this competitor in town, which thinks she does SEO. I often go to her site and giggle to myself when she puts links at the bottom of her site and she always makes the mistake with the space between the TLD extension and the forward slash. At first it was every link, now it is only a few links. Look at what she has done today;
http://www.businesshappeningsinorlando.com/index.html Go to the very bottom, Look at the Orlando Pressure Washing link, poor client. She will probably leave it like that for a month before some one catches it. On her main site, she always has some good examples of this, but I cannot get it to load. This is why I thought it was some type of trick. It must be some kind of HTML editor problem maybe? What do you guys use? Dream weaver MX?

No its not an html editor problem, we have a custom programmed backend for the admin of the directory, it was entered wrong so the space was delimited with a %20 on publication, plain and simple mistake. I use DW MX 2004 for my editor and have never encountered any such problem

I use Dreamweaver MX as well, I thought maybe another editor. If he made a mistake, that’s normal, we all make mistakes.
I am always analyzing things, I thought even another company does it all the time, and now I see another person do it, maybe it was an HTML editor with a bad visual editor. But that’s not the case, no harm done and not an issue.
