I definitely prefer the wide templates on my monitor.

You might consider making the top nav bar colors a little more contrasting. The light blue on gray is a bit faint on my display.

Lots of good info on the site, but the number of links on the left nav is a bit overwhelming. Also, I know there is SEO benefit to saying "neighborhood_name real estate" under the featured areas, but I tend to like the shorter anchor text of just "neighborhood_name" but that's just me.

I've been considering switching my site to a wider template. After seeing yours, I'm convinced I need to. It looks great wider. I'd add a "Search The MLS" button or link to the top of the page. Most visitors are looking to search for properties. Make it easy for them to find your IDX.
