What causes Google to index some content or site's faster than others?

From my understanding creating unique quality content and building backlinks helps increase the rate Google indexes yours site. So, all things being equal whoever has more unique content and backlinks should be indexed faster?

Does title and using the correct tags increase the speed at which Google indexes something or just assist in SERP placement?

The reason for my question is I just started a new site about a month ago. The most recent post I did on the blog was indexed in under an hour. My older site sometimes takes a day to be indexed. The newer site uses WordPress the older uses mojoblog which is a joomla blog module. Does anyone think the platform could contribute that much?

I'm gonna take a stab at this and say that wordpress is far more established than mojoblog and therefore, as soon as google knows your blog exists, is gonna take a broad sweep thru the wordpress blogs and index them faster than a mojoblog. I have several wordpress blogs and have noticed them getting indexed as fast as 7 minutes...but on average in under 30 minutes

I have been racking my brain all morning trying to figure this out. You could definitely be right. I just hate to think Google is subjectively determining what platforms should be used. If they index Wordpress faster than any other platform, why use anything else? Would be the eventual outcome. As much as I love WordPress the web would become rather mundane.

I just think that Wordpress is a lot easier on the spiders than most platforms thus why it gets indexed faster.

The blogs ping the search engines and start the crawl process. Possibly mojoblog delays the ping while wordpress is more instantaneous (this is speculation on my part not fact).

Look in Wired magazine from a few months ago to see the chain of events that are triggered when a blog is written.

Keyword density doesn't have effect on crawlability of your site.
