Just curious, I have been trying to work on my sites PR value lately and establish some good backlinks. My site currently only has a PR of 2. Does it hurt my PR value or my sight when I get backlinks that are a lower PR value such as 1 or 0?
Also, is there any reason Yahoo shows many more backlinks than Google? If Google is not showing them does that mean they do not count towards my sites PR? Thanks, I'm just trying to figure this all out.

Most sites have a lot of backlinks from low PR sites. It's totally normal and I'm not aware of any negative effects. I actually read somewhere that if you have too many high PR links that can raise a spam flag because it's an unnatural linking pattern, but unless you were to go out and buy a bunch of high PR links for a new site then I don't think that's worth worrying about either.

It shouldn't hurt your site unless it's HUGE and raises a flag - imo - need to keep everything looking natural.
Just keep in mind while you're building links that not all links are going to get indexed and/or stay indexed by Google so not all of them will help your site's PR.

No low PR backlinks will not hurt you but they will not benefit you greatly either, you really want to get high PR sites that are related as much as possible to your site,
The reason yahoo shows more links than google is that the google bot is much more strict that the yahoo bot, and it will only show the links that are highly related to you site, although google is the ultimate search engine in this case if you are trying to analyse your backlinks than yahoo is much more accurate.

Low PR backlinks are definately not useless. Next update, that PR0 link could go to a PR3 or PR4.
