Default wrong mapping location

Map location displays on wrong street. 812066 Actual location is north street in Seacliff area 47. MLS displays location correctly on their map. Please fix, thanks

To bad we couldn't get the geocodes off your MLS board - Unfortunately - we must reply on a 3rd party geocoder that isn't always as accurate as you would like. If you would like to have us manually update this listings geocodes - please provide the long and lat for the listing.

Thank you,

Is there no way to get accurate information? Does everyone have so many problem with their maps? Is there a better vendor that you get the code- I'd fire them based on all the headaches I have with your mapping feature? The MLS gets it from Teleatlas at present, but they will be changing. They will be getting the map that is more google like with the streets, hybrid, etc features and teleatlas does not offer that I guess.

Yeah - No one else seems to have as many issues as you do. We get our Geocodes from Google - they have pretty good data. So ... let me know those coordinates and I can update them for you.

Since the MLS gets them from Teleatlas, can you not get them from there? I guess I don't understand why there is the geocode problem. Maybe when they do the switch, things will be better. Is it that others don't have this problem or that I just want it to work propertly? I do not have the problem very often when I am on other maps, such as the MLS or others. I think what I have commented on are things that are not working, isn't that the case?

By and large the other part of the idx works pretty well and it gets found by the SE's, which is in my opinion one of it's strengths and main reasons for keeping it. Thanks for your efforts.

Gregg, thought I would chime in here as I can feel your frustration. My mapping is not perfect either, but it works for the most part. I am more concerned that my site continue to generate leads and I doubt a few missing properties on a map make much of a difference for that. The only time I expect the map to be perfect is when I need it to show one of my listings that is not there.

Are you getting feedback that it is a problem? Is map search significant for visitors on your site? How many people do a map search vs a typical city-price MLS search on your site?

I am not making a case for something you feel does not work properly, but how much do you think the problem is really impacting your business? Heck, I even see on our MLS where the mapping is totally wrong for an address.

Maybe I am the one not thinking correctly, but I look at the big picture when it comes to what my site is doing and I don't sweat the small stuff. The visitor really does not know what's missing anyway.

Thanks for the thoughts, Drew, but it is more often that I tell a customer to go to my map search that it is a great way to search, and find stuff missing, or in the past lots of stuff missing. I think I'll pm you.

Hi Gregg,

I believe Google Combines the data from many sources - I believe Tele Atlas is one of them. I am not sure how the MLS is getting their Geocodes that are better than the ones we get - the fact is that mapping is not entirely accurate - we do our best to get as many listings mapped as possible - which sometimes means mapping them at a lower accuracy level. Meaning ... that it won't find the exact address - but find the closest point.

When they switch - it will not affect your website whatsoever. The MLS does not provide us with any Geocode data.

A while back we removed the City part in the lookup for the geocodes - this seemed to help the amount of listings geocoded.

I'll take a look at your map search tonight and work out any issues I find.

If you still want me to correct the location of that one listing - please let me know the coordinates.

Thank you,
