Default Google's PR

I'm unable to see any PR in IE Google Toolbar or Firefox Google toolbar on any site. Anyone else?

I wonder if some changes are happening. I've also noticed when running a cache:site.com or link:site.com it's been returning server errors from Google. ???

There seem to be 3 possible explanations.

1. Its a glitch in their software
2. Google is making major changes in PR assessments and is updating their software
3. Google is doing away with PR

There may be others but these seem to be the most likely.

I don't think this will happen. Google is too heavily invested in PageRank (it being what separates them from the other search engines).

Also, if they were "doing away with PR" they would have removed it from the toolbar.

I believe you are right about Google's heavy investment in PR but I don't think I share the reasons why. Google can maintain PR but say they are going to keep it internal, but that doesn't matter. I think Google has devalued PR to the point where it is just another alogo in their mix. I also suspect Google says and does many things to keep their competiters off guard and chasing red herrings. It also keeps many SEO marketers chasing their tails.
