Hey everybody, I know that others have said that you are supposed to host domains on different class c IP's. To me it makes sense that if you are going to do that you would host on different names servers. So basically, you should put domains on different hosts. Of course this is kind of a pain.
But is that true for all situations? For me I have one site now that is our main site general real estate for a geographical region. I would like to create a couple of diffent sites, one focusing on condos in that geographical region and another focusing on a specific market in that geographical area. So I'm looking at 3-4 sites total. I would not link extensively between them other than to link with keywords to each other from the home page. I would also use these sites as a means by which to gain momentum in link campaigns (so other webmasters will be looking for different class C's). I'm struggling with ease of use versus unique appearance to SE's and SEO's. How are others dealing with multiple website hosting? I have 2 other domains registered that I'm waiting to bring online asap so they can make it into the SE indexes. |

I do not buy into the class C thing as much as most, especially if you are not heavily interlinking and the content is unique. I honestly would host them all on the same IP for convenience.

I was of thinking the same thing. Now a follow up question to you as a webmaster. From a reciprocal link perspective, you would have no problem linking with somebody setup this way? That is one of the things I was worried about as I get ready to embark on long and arduous linking campaign.

You will find that less than 1% of all link partners check IP, in fact many of our own template sites are hosted on the same IP and we have 0 problems with it. I would link to them without question.

I think google is going to look at domain registration information to determine mini-nets all owned by the same person/company. Virtual hosting is making the ip thing too difficult to isolate.
