I found this one out by pure mistake...I went to a sub page on my site and changed the case of the letters from lower to upper or visa versa and it went to the page. The page is typically a pr4 so when I saw 0 I thought what the hell is going on. After closer inspection, I see that google somehow distinguishes a difference in pages in terms of case sensitivity. I don't know how this is possible.
I also found that if you try to type a sub page and you change one of the letters from upper to lower or visa versa, google may say that the link is broke. I just tested this on someone elses site, they had some characters listed as upper case and changed it to lower case and google indicated that the link was broke. I dont understand how this is possible either. I hope I explained this correctly...tell me what you think

If you are talking about filenames there most certainly is a difference to Google /File-Name.php vs /file-name.php it is important whichever you choose, you stay consistent and ensure all links on your site and pointing to your site have the same capitalization.

Many say the best practice is to use all lower case. I used upper case in many of my urls and have not had much trouble.
Some servers treat upper and lower case differently. Like Morgan said, just stay consistent so that you do not bleed Page Rank. If you already have upper case letters in you urls, make sure links pointing to the pages are all formatted the same way. If you are going to switch to all lowercase, you should do a 301 permanent redirect from the old to the new. To me it seemed like more trouble than it was worth. It should not cause any duplicate content issues. Google recognizes your urls the same with uppercase or lowercase: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...ngforeclosures

web address and filename are the same thing. I believe the problem is with linux servers. So some servers have a problem and some don't.

This may be a bit off topic but I can't seem to find a good place to ask the question.
I have a site www.mymaineproperty.com that used to have page rank on most pages and now no longer has any PR on any pages yet I continue to rank just as high for all keywords - generally the 1-7 spots on Google for most maine real estate related terms. Any thoughts on why I have 0 page rank on all my pages? Thanks, John

Hi John Herrigel,
strange, how long your site is online with this content? You should have a better PR! You should sign up for Google webmaster tools, and give them a site map to index! Stephan

Absolutely.
Linux Servers are case sensitive, but normally ignore case in URL's if set up properly. Win-Doz dont care!
