I see no changes in the algorithm. Many of the items you have listed have been deprecated for quite awhile.
What basis do you have for your speculations? |

I have seen no movement in my results...

Matt, Not a cynic...just experienced.
Someone (a member at webmasterworld) decided on May 20th to pull the trigger and call some fluctuations the "Bourbon Update". Typically, we see these named updates when there is a major algorithm adjustment. The minor fluctuations that have been seen thus far do not warrant crediting them to a major algorithim change. The most common items I have seen is new sites being released from the sandbox and some movement in rankings based on the dampening effect of incoming links. The information from the site (dotcomicide) you quoted in your first reference is simply not credible. (IMO) Lets take them one-by-one: Non-thematic Linking - This has been a factor for over a year Duplicate Content - Has been an issue for quite some time. However, it really became an issue with the Allegra update. Fraternal Linking - Again, we have been talking about this for quite awhile. Run of Site Links - Sites have been getting banned for over a year now for aggressive crosslinking. Low Quality Reciprocal Links - No news here. I don't know who authored the above list and attributed those items to the so-called Bourbon update, but the claims are baseless and without facts. Again, I am not seeing any big changes on any data center. Last edited by Salt River Media; 06-05-2005 at 04:06 PM. |
